Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Sistersville, W. VA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, " PIERPOINT & McCORMICK, / DRY GOODS, / GROCERIES AND / NOTIONS. / SISTERSVILLE / W. VA.". Missing handle. A 1 1/8" in-the-firing spout chip and two other smaller, post-firing spout chips. Tight spider cracks to shoulder area and right side of jug.
