One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Bird Decoration, Stamped "I. SEYMOUR / TROY", New York State origin, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and lower handle terminal. Some bubbling to cobalt. A tiny spout chip. A 5/8" in-the-firing separation at upper handle terminal. A minor in-the-firing stone ping to reverse and a small spot of Albany slip glaze to front.
