One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Tobacco Jar, Stenciled "WEYMAN & BRO. / PITTSBURGH. / PA.", Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising for Weyman & Brothers Tobacco, which reads, "Weyman & Bro. / PITTSBURGH. / PA.". Stenciled floral motifs at the shoulder and stenciled flourishes at base. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a small collection of Pittsburgh advertising stoneware consigned to this auction. A Y-shaped crack on underside, continuing 7 3/4" up reverse side of jar. Some light surface wear.
