Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, stenciled "B.L. FAHNESTOCK / & CO. / PITTSBURGH. / PA.". Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a long-term private collection. An in-the-firing dry spot to front. Shallow chipping to base. A thin, in-the-firing contact mark to reverse. A group of three small in-the-firing pings on reverse with some faint crazing emanating from it. H 9 3/4".
