Rare One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stenciled "H. & S. SWANK / JOHNSTOWN, PA", circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, the front with unusual "H. & S. SWANK / JOHNSTOWN, PA" stenciling, the reverse with a sweeping tulip design in the Swank style. Fry to cobalt. Two 1 1/4" surface lines to interior of rim, not visible on exterior. A few minor chips to inner rim for lid.
