Two Pieces of Lancaster, PA Advertising Stoneware, American, late 19th century, a one-gallon, Bristol-slip-glazed stoneware jug with the cobalt script advertising, "Chas A. Grove. / Wholesale Liquor Dealer / Centre Square. / Lancaster. / Pa.", attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, late 19th century; paired with a two-gallon lidded jar with Bristol-slip-glazed surface and the cobalt advertising, "DEMUTH'S / CELEBRATED / SNUFF. / ESTABLISHED 1770. / LANCASTER, PA". Provenance: David Musser Collection. Jug with significant restoration, which is starting to peel off, as well as some minor base chips. Jar in excellent condition with light staining. Chips to lid.
