Two Decorated Stoneware Jars, PA and VA origin, circa 1865-1890, a one-and-a-half-gallon cylindrical jar with manganese swag decoration, stamped "S. BELL & SON / STRASBURG", circa 1890; paired with a two-gallon cylindrical jar, decorated with three brushed cobalt floral motifs, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, from a sixty-year private collection. Bell jar with a small rim chip, a 1 1/4" base chip, and a small base chip. Remmey jar with a rim chip, a minor rim nick, minor nicks to shoulder molding, a 3" vertical line at base, not visible on underside, and some minor in-the-firing flaws.
