Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders", Cleveland, GA origin, circa 1980, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied face, including kaolin eyes with black-glazed pupils, ears, a nose with nostrils, pronounced chip, and mouth with applied kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a mottled green alkaline glaze. Underside incised "Lanier Meaders". Excellent condition with some in-the-firing glaze loss to base on reverse and side. H 9 1/2".
