Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Stamped "G. BENTON & L. STEWART / HARTFORD", CT origin, circa 1815, an ovoid jug and ovoid jug, both of approximate one-gallon size, with cobalt highlights to the maker's mark and handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market lot, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Jug with spider cracks, base chips, a lime ping, and contact mark to reverse. Jar with tight cracks on underside, extending onto base, as well as a thin crack through handle, and a minor rim chip. H (of jug) 9 3/4".
