Two Pieces of Stoneware, Philadelphia, PA and Haddonfield, NJ origin, fourth quarter 19th century, a lidded butter crock with cobalt swag decoration to crock and lid, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA; paired with a one-and-a-half-gallon lidded cake crock with cobalt floral decoration, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ. Remmey butter crock with several chips to interior and exterior of rim. Lid with losses to knob, a chip to edge, and a chip to flange on underside. Wingender cake crock with a 4 1/2" crack from rim and a small in-the-firing iron ping to rim. Lid with in-the-firing surface lines to underside, two edge chips, and a glazed-over edge chip. H (of Remmey butter crock, excluding lid) 4" ; Diameter (of Remmey butter crock) 7 1/2".
