Rare One-Gallon Port Richmond, Staten Island, New York Stoneware Advertising Crock with Lid, attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, late 19th century, cylindrical, salt-glazed crock with tooled shoulder and squared rim, featuring the slip-trailed cobalt advertising, "O.M. Barber & Co. / Port Richmond / S.I.". Unusual Port Richmond advertising, featuring the abbreviation, "S.I.", for "Staten Island". Crock includes a molded salt-glazed stoneware lid with Rockingham-glazed top and relief floral motif. Provenance: The Stradlings; J.N. Jacobsen Auction, Staten Island, NY, 1967. Crock in very nice condition with a small glazed-over chip on interior of rim and a second, small nick to interior of rim. Lid with spider crack from edge, two edge chips, a faint 7/8" line from edge, and two very minor nicks along crack.
