One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES, / GREENSBORO. / GREENE CO. / PA.", circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with five freehand stripes and desirable Hamilton & Jones "GREENE CO." maker's stenciling. A few minor nicks to shoulder molding. A long sealed Y-shaped hairline at base, connecting to a cross-shaped hairline on underside. An in-the-firing chip to underside at edge. A few areas of old paint residue to surface, not related to any sort of restoration.
