Scarce Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bowl with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, with slightly-rounded sides, tooled shoulder, and semi-squared rim, the front featuring the stenciled inscription, "From / W.D. Cooper & Bro. / No 7 / Diamond / Pittsburgh". Brushed cobalt stripe below rim. Stenciled bold-faced "1 1/2" with flourish at base. Wear to rim. A 1 3/4" surface crack to rim with small chip along crack line. Some very light wear to surface.
