Three-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT / GREENSBORO.", PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with T.F. Reppert maker's stenciling and a stenciled design of a Federal eagle with shield, clutching an arrow in each talon. Brushed stripe below rim. Cobalt script "3" with flourish at base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Reverse side of crock slumped during the firing. A 6" crack from rim on front. A Y-shaped crack at base, continuing onto underside.
