Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX. / HARRISBURG. PA", circa 1865, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and semi-squared spout, decorated with two large tulips emanating from a central stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Includes wooden stopper. Very nice condition with some light exfoliation to spout area and a small in-the-firing surface chip / contact mark below spout on reverse.
