One-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, cylindrical crock with semi-squared rim and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with two brushed tulips. Large cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Heavy chipping to rim. A top-to-bottom crack on one side. Small base chips, most or all of which appear to be in-the-firing. A 3/4" chip to underside at edge.
