Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Mug, Inscribed "Boyd Club", attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, late 19th century, barrel-form mug with incised and cobalt-highlighted banding, featuring the incised and cobalt-highlighted inscription, "Boyd Club", flanked by incised arrows. A 1 1/8" chip to interior of rim, partially visible on exterior, with a 3/4" faint line descending from it. A second small chip to rim. Some additional very shallow chipping to top edge of rim. An additional 1/2" hairline from rim. A 1" section of handle reglued at handle's lower terminal. Minor nicks to bottom edge of mug. A shallow contact mark to edge of handle. H 4 1/2".
