Fine Diminutive Glazed Redware Butter Tub, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, cylindrical form resting on three feet with applied rope handles and raised shoulder molding, the surface decorated with heavily-sponged manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. One handle and section of rim below has been professionally restored. Additional restoration to surface on interior below same handle. A faint 1 3/4" hairline from rim. H (to top of handles) 2 7/8".
