One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Butter Crock, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled rim, footed base, and ribbed handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a two groups of brushed swags. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a wavy stripe of cobalt underneath each handle. A shallow, glazed-over rim flake. A minor rim nick. Small bloated spots clay on underside.
