Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO.", Fort Edward, NY, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Some fry to cobalt. Staining to surface. A chip to left handle.
