Rare Stoneware Wax Sealer with Hollidaysburgh, PA Advertising, Stenciled "MADE BY T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1880, tapered jar with semi-rounded wax sealer rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising "LYNN A. BRUA. / DRY GOODS, / GROCERIES / GENERAL MD'SE. / HOLLIDAYSBURGH. PA." Base with highly unusual stenciled signature "MADE BY T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. PA.". Small stenciled tulip motifs above advertising. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignors' parents decades ago. Two minor chips to interior of rim. Inner wax sealer rim with a 1 1/4" chip, a 1" chip, and two other small chips. A small base chip. H 8 1/4".
