Two Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jugs, Western PA origin, circa 1875, a two-gallon jug, stenciled "R.A. McCABE & CO. / WHOLESALE / DRUGGISTS. / WHEELING, / W. VA." with stenciled and freehand cobalt decoration; paired with a half-gallon jug, stenciled "J. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. / PA.". Larger jug with exfoliation to surface and underside, a 1" chip to front, chips to base of spout, some crazing to reverse, and light wear to spout. Hamilton jug with broken and reglued handle, a 1" area of shallow chipping to base, a glazed-over ping to front, and a small piece of clay adhered to spout.
