Large-Sized, Handled Spittoon with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1885, with footed base, carved oval opening at shoulder, and applied lug handles, decorated with two incised and cobalt-highlighted bands, cobalt swags underscoring the opening, and additional swag decoration under each handle. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent size. Significant hairlines throughout underside, extending partway up body of spittoon in several places. H 6 3/8" ; Diameter 11 1/4".
