Scarce Sixteen-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Wheeling, West Virginia Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, large cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring large "H.F. BEHRENS / WHEELING / W.VA." advertising, along with various stenciled flourishes and the capacity "16" stenciled twice. Large crack extending across much of underside and onto base on side of jar, then continuing up reverse where it forms a Y at shoulder. Shallow chipping along one handle.
