Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Stenciled "R.T. WILLIAMS. / MANUFACTURER / NEW GENEVA / PA.," circa 1885, cylindrical churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and tall collar, decorated with freehand stripes at the shoulder, R.T. William's makers stenciling at the midsection, and an underscored freehand "3" flanked by dashes and foliate accents at the base. A 1 1/8" in-the-firing flake to top of rim, which is partially glazed over. One handle with a 7/8" crack with minor chipping, which runs along its edge. A minor chip to opposite end of same handle. A minor chip to one end of opposite handle.
