Glazed Redware Inkwell, American, late 18th to mid 19th century, circular form with raised central spout surrounded by three holes. Surface covered in a lead glaze with heavy iron or manganese flecking. Large spout chip. Small chips to outer edge of inkwell. Base chips. A circular hairline on underside with some additional light exfoliation to underside. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from an inkwell collection amassed over the last thirty years, consigned to this auction; Ex-Clark Garrett Collection. Diameter 3".
