Rare Molded Redware Glass-Form Inkwell, American, 19th century, oval form with raised column design and attached flange with three quill holders, the top with four holes surrounding a central ink hole, the top edge with incised or molded gouges throughout. Surface covered in a mottled lead-and-manganese glaze. Excellent form, molded after glass examples of the period. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from an inkwell collection amassed over the last thirty years, consigned to this auction. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. L 3 1/2" ; H 1 3/4".
