Two-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with boldly-brushed clovers extending from leafy stems. Loss to one handle. 1 1/4" chip to edge of opposite handle. Glued cracks on underside, one of which continues up body of crock to rim. Two shallow chips on interior of rim, measuring 1 1/4" and 1". A few other minor rim chips.
