Two Pieces of Early Northeastern U.S. Stoneware with Cobalt Decoration, 18th and / or 19th centuries, an open-handled, one-gallon jar with stylized cobalt floral decoration, probably NJ origin, possibly Connecticut, late 18th or early 19th century; paired with a one-gallon ovoid jug with tooled spout, stamped "STEDMAN / NEW-HAVEN", Connecticut origin, circa 1825. Jar with 2" rim chip, another minor rim chip, a 1 3/4" flake to one side, and clay residue on one handle. Stedman jug with some shallow chipping to spout and base, and a minor surface abrasion on reverse. H 9".
