Rare Large-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "BOYERS & HARDEN / 1877 / PALATINE / WVA," tapered jar with rounded wax sealer rim, featuring the rare stenciled signature with date, "BOYERS & HARDEN / 1877 / PALATINE / WVA". Stenciled leaves flanking the date and abbreviation "WVA". Brushed cobalt stripes at rim and base. Excellent size. Exceptional color with bold, crisp stenciling. 3/4" contact mark at base on left side of jar. 7/8" chip to inner wax sealer rim. Shallow 3/4" chip to interior of rim. A few other minor chips on interior of rim. Some light staining, primarily to reverse. H 10 3/4".
