Extremely Rare PURE WINE CIDER Stoneware Advertising Jug, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, one-gallon ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising "JOHN HORST / PURE WINE CIDER & / PICKLING VINEGAR / RETURN JUG WHEN EMPTY". Excellent advertising subject matter and highly unusual "RETURN JUG WHEN EMPTY" impression. Handle broken into pieces and reglued. 3/4" chip to spout on reverse. Minor chipping to base.
