Rare Glazed Redware Vase-Form Whistle, American, probably PA origin, 19th century, wheel-thrown, miniature vase with pedestal base, the shoulder with octagonal clay whistle inserted through the shoulder. Surface covered in a lead glaze over a colorful yellowish-orange ground. Dimpled depressions at the vase's midsection allow for easy handling. Highly unusual form. Restoration to base. Shallow chip to underside. Otherwise excellent condition. H 3 1/2".
