Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "CORTLAND," New York State origin, circa 1867-1869, ovoid jar with applied lug handles and tooling to shoulder and rim, the front decorated with a large brushed tulip. Brushed "3" to right of decoration. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Top-to-bottom crack from rim on reverse, extending onto underside. Rim secured with a wire.
