Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "THOMAS D. CHOLLAR / CORTLAND," New York State origin, circa 1840, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a brushed leaf design, cobalt brushwork to the maker's mark, and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Includes antique wooden stopper. Some light exfoliation to front. Some staining to base area. Some in-the-firing dryness to shoulder area.
