Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY, / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a a stylized branch or log. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Small chip to top of rim. Small, glazed-over chip to exterior of rim. Two minor chips on interior of rim. Hairline extending across underside and 1 1/2" up reverse of crock.
