Scarce Small-Sized Stoneware Spittoon with Cobalt Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX," Harrisburg, PA origin, circa 1865, with footed base and carved oval opening at shoulder, the circumference decorated with six large daubs of cobalt resembling leaves of flower buds. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent small size. A small chip to shoulder with a faint 3 1/2" horizontal line extending through it. An additional extremely minor nick to shoulder with a very faint 1 1/4" line extending through it. H 3 1/2" ; Diameter 6 3/8".
