Fine Large-Sized Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "JAMES HAMILTON & Co. / GREENSBORO. PA," circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and wide semi-rounded rim with wax sealer interior; the front decorated with a stenciled geometric design resembling a sunrise surrounded by James Hamilton maker's stenciling. Brushed stripes at rim and base. Excellent condition with a minor rim nick and and two tiny nicks on inner wax sealer rim. H 9 3/4".
