Two Stoneware Canning Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, both with wax sealer rims, one of unusually wide form, decorated with five alternating straight and wavy cobalt stripes, the other decorated with three freehand stripes. Wider jar with staining, roughness to inner rim, and two short hairlines from rim on reverse. Other jar with base chip, significant cracks extending onto underside, and a series of contact marks on side of jar. H (of wider jar) 6 1/2".
