Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Large Stenciled Federal Eagle Decoration, Stenciled "R.T. WILLIAMS. / NEW GENEVA. PA.," circa 1885, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large stenciled design of a Federal eagle with shield, a banner in its beaks, and olive branches and arrows in its talons. Freehand stripes to shoulder and base. Brushed accents above eagle. Base with freehand "3" flanked by dashes. A minor chip to each handle. Areas of staining. Some fry to cobalt.
