Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER / ROCHESTER," New York State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a flowering plant with heavily-shaded leaves. Slip-trailed "2." on shoulder. Shallow in-the-firing chipping to underside. Shallow 1" sliver of wear to one handle. Stone ping to shoulder. Minor nick to interior of rim.
