Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER, NY," circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy. Slip-trailed "2" at shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Tight 4", 1 3/4", and 1 5/8" cracks from rim. Numerous rim chips. Chips and wear to ledge on interior of rim where a lid would rest. Chip and short line in one handle. Staining to surface.
