Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Impressed and Cobalt-Decorated Running Horse Design, Stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a highly unusual, impressed design of a running horse with cobalt-highlighted body atop a stylized ground. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent figural design. 10" crack from rim to right of decoration. Restored handle chips. Two tiny nicks to interior of rim.
