Two Pieces of Salt-Glazed Stoneware, American and German, 19th century, a rare three-gallon stoneware crock with impressed and cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, "SOUTH AMBOY POTTERY CO," New Jersey origin, late 19th century; paired with a small open-handled jar with cobalt chain link decoration, Westerwald, Germany origin. The South Amboy Pottery Company was the final name of the Swan Hill Pottery. South Amboy crock in excellent condition with an in-the-firing stone ping on reverse. Westerwald jar missing one handle, with two rim chips, and a 1 1/2" vertical line at base extending 1" onto underside.
