Six-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Churn, Southeastern U.S., late 19th century, semi-ovoid churn with flared collar and applied lug handles, the surface covered in a streaky, olive-colored alkaline glaze. Incised "6" under one handle. 3" x 1 3/4" loss to rim. Additional rim chips. Some roughness to inner rim, where lid would rest. 5 1/2" hairline from rim.
