Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Mortar, probably Southern U.S., late 19th century, heavy, thick-walled vessel with flared sides and footed base, the base with brushed cobalt band and numerous stripes. 1/2" diameter hole drilled in underside. Otherwise excellent condition. H 4 5/8" ; Diameter 6 3/4".
