Unusual Salt-Glazed Stoneware Pillow with Foliate Decoration, German origin, late 19th century, finely-molded stoneware pillow attached to a wheel-thrown pedestal base, the top surface featuring a recessed foliate design decorated with cobalt and manganese highlights. Corners with molded tassels and sides with relief ring and rope embellishments, all with black-glazed highlights. Chipping to bottom edge of pedestal base. Otherwise excellent condition. L 12" ; W 12" ; H 4 1/2".
