Large-Sized Rockingham-Glazed Inkstand, Embossed "SHARPE," American or English, second or third quarter 19th century, finely-molded inkstand with scrolled handles embellished with raised acanthus leaves, the top with separate octagonal inkwell, pen tray, and two recessed oval trays. Front embossed "SHARPE" within a cartouche. Surface covered in a streaky light-brown glaze over a cream-colored ground. Tight 6 1/4" crack on underside. Inkstand and inkwell in otherwise excellent conditions. Dimensions (of inkstand): 12" x 6 3/4".
