Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY / N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large cobalt design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Several cracks in underside, extending onto base area. Some staining. Two rim chips and a minor rim nick. 5" crack from rim on side of crock. An additional 1 1/2" surface line by bird's tail.
