Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Wreath Decoration, Stamped "BURGER & LANG / ROCHESTER, NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a finely-slip-trailed design of a wreath with bow surrounding the number "2". Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Some water glass staining to surface. Otherwise very nice condition with a rim chip, minor rim nick, and a tiny nick to one handle.
