Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BURGER & LANG / ROCHESTER N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with flared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed floral design including a scallop-edged blossom with script "3" at the center, flanked by finely-detailed leaves. 1 1/2" chip to side of rim. Chip to rim above opposite handle. Two shallow chips on top of rim. Wear to inner ledge, where a lid would rest. Some staining to surface.
